Corn Maze Fun

Last Monday Kevin and I met his family at the corn maze in Shelley. We decided to go through the first maze and find all the clues. It was set up as an FSI (farm scene investigation) haha! It was like a clue game but you had to run around the maze and find the spots where there were little stands with pictures of a location, animal, and a weapon. You had to put a whole punch through the corresponding picture of each of those. When you found all 9 stands, you took it to the ticket booth and you were rewarded with a...STICKER!!! I definitely thought it would be at least candy or something, but oh well. Right at the beginning, somehow we split up into teams of 2. Kevin and his dad, me and his mom, and his two sisters, so 3 teams in all

Kevin seems to think he has a better sense of direction than me, and let's face it, that's completely true in most situations. Except in a corn maze. That's right, the girls totally dominated! And yes, we were quite excited about it.

Here is a picture of us with our WINNING TICKET!!

After, we decided to ride on the little train thingy. Not sure exactly what you would call it. It was fun, but made me a little sick at some times since there really  wans't any stability to the seats. And the seats were super uncomfortable to begin with anyway.

And here is a picture of us being cute :)

We finished the night with chocolate milk and donuts. Such a good ending to a fun night.

P.S. The flash on our camera is super bright so we look washed out in all of these pictures, but that's OK.

Blah morning

Technically I should be at church right now, but these are the excuses I've used to convince myself it's OK that I'm not there.

1)Kevin worked from 4-12 this morning and is sleeping right now.
2)Wardrobe malfunction-took way too much time to find something that I wanted to wear that wasn't either dirty, wrinkly, or too small or all 3, so I gave up trying.
3)I didn't get out of the shower until 12:30 and church starts at 1.
4)I didn't want to show up 30 minutes late to Relief Society.
5)I do not want to go to Sunday school by myself because we usually go to a Marriage and Family Relations class. I am not about to show up single to that.
6)If Kevin wakes up in time for Sacrament meeting, we'll probably go to that, even though I have plenty of time to get ready to go by myself even if he doesn't wake up. And I really should go to at least that hour of church since I'm being lazy having a pity party for myself.

Drum roll please...

We officially bought our tickets to go to Washington for Christmas :) We will get there around 10 AM on Thursday the 23rd and leave the afternoon of the 29th. We think a week is a good amount of time to be home. Unfortunately, we have to get back for work and school...boo :( The last time we were in Washington was for my grandma's funeral, which was the weekend after Thanksgiving. So it will be over a year by the time Christmas comes since I have seen any of my family members except for my mom and Amie who came to visit us in August. But I haven't seen Thomas, Kelly, my dad, or Kelli since last December. That is easily the longest time I've gone without seeing them (well except Thomas when he was on his mission).

So I definitely want to see anyone and everyone that will be in Puyallup/around the area during the week of Christmas this year!

New Toy

Kevin and I have been looking at new computers to buy for quite a while now. Mine died forever ago (no more Toshiba's-lesson learned) but we really haven't found a great deal on one that we both liked. Since we're on different tracks for school, Fall semester is the only time we're in school at the same time throughout the entire year and only one computer (his) hasn't really been an issue until just a few days ago. We both needed to use the computer the same morning before our classes. We figured it out but it was a bit stressful when we realized we both needed it at the same time. You would think I would have been more productive the night before while he was at work and I had plenty of time to do my assignment since I only have 7 credits this semester (1 of which is just my internship. I got lucky enough to be able to keep my current job for my internship because it's a food establishment and fits into the classes I've already taken and I'm currently taking). Anyway, back to the computer fiasco. We went down to Idaho Falls on Wednesday evening to deposit our pay checks and decided to stop by Best Buy just to compare brands, styles, etc again. We found an Asus which we liked a lot, but it wasn't on sale anymore like it was last week....bummer. I had never even heard of Asus before a few months ago when we started looking at computers. Kevin's sister Amanda got one and she works at Best Buy, so we figured it was a quality brand. One of the salesmen told us that Asus makes a lot of the internal parts for other companies, but they just recently started to put the complete package together themselves. We figured if we were going to spend the money on a non-sale price of an Asus, we'd rather spend a bit more on a Sony. We got online to compare different computers on their website. We found 2 Sony Vaios (one black and one white). They were the exact same in almost every way. The black one was a bit better in one way which I would have no idea how to explain (I don't understand computer talk whatsoever). However the white version was $50 more than the black one. However, when you changed the color preference of the black one to white, it jumped up $50 as well. The same for changing the white one to black (it dropped the price by $50). Sneaky Sony. We decided to get the original black one which was cheaper online than the one they had in the store. They gave us the online price for the instore computer. Also, we decided to get the accidental coverage on it which includes any damage (except full water submersion-apparently some idiots like to type while they're in the bathtub) for 2 years! So anytime within two years, anything goes with it, or I break it in anyway (which, let's face it, would be a miracle if it didn't happen), I get a brand new computer for FREE!!!
So, we are now the proud owners of a brand new Sony Vaio and we LOVE IT!!!

Hope you all followed that story. I know, it was long and sporadic :)

This is little Sony.

Patience is a virtue

I used to despise the beep the microwave makes when it counts down to zero. Now, I don't really mind it because our microwave will flash a  nice little message across the screen if I am patient enough to wait. After that awful sound, "Enjoy Your Meal" will take the place of where the countdown once was. I rather like that nice message. The only thing is, I have to be patient enough to wait until that awful beep is done making the most obnoxious sound. Oh well...it's worth it.

This is our very polite microwave :)
